Ricky Johnson became known as the "Bad Boy" by coincidence but his racing style and determination matched the nickname that became synonymous with RJ.

The youngest pro racer in AMA history first became part of the factory Team Yamaha squad winning his first title in 1984 before landing with Team Honda in 1986 where he was virtually unstoppable until 1989.
